Product Description:

Neptic Eye Drop contains Nepafenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) specifically formulated for ophthalmic (eye) use. It is commonly prescribed to reduce pain, inflammation, and sensitivity to light after cataract surgery. It also helps in the prevention of macular edema (fluid in the central part of the retina) that can occur as a complication of eye surgery.

How It Works:

Nepafenac penetrates through the cornea and is converted inside the eye to Amfenac, an active NSAID. Amfenac inhibits COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes in eye tissues, reducing the production of prostaglandins that cause pain, inflammation, and post-surgical complications. This results in effective relief of eye discomfort and reduced risk of post-operative complications.

Dosage & Administration:

• Use Neptic Eye Drop exactly as prescribed by your eye doctor ? do not alter the frequency or number of drops
• Complete the full prescribed course, especially the post-operative course, even if the eye feels better earlier
• Shake the bottle gently before use; tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid, and instil the prescribed number of drops

Precautions:

• Remove contact lenses before instilling the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them
• Inform your eye doctor if you are allergic to aspirin or any other NSAIDs before using this eye drop
• Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface, including the eye, to avoid contamination

Possible Side Effects:

• Temporary stinging, burning, or discomfort on instillation
• Eye redness or increased tearing
• Blurred vision immediately after instillation (usually resolves quickly)
• Sensitivity to light in some patients

Storage:

• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat
• Keep out of reach of children
• Discard the bottle 4 weeks after opening, even if some solution remains, to prevent contamination
