Product Description:
PEEFREE NF TAB — Nitrofurantoin 100mg is an antibiotic used for urinary tract infections. It is concentrated in the urine and acts directly in it to destroy bacteria. Works for simple UTIs due to common bacteria such as E. coli. Note: take with food to prevent upset, contraindicated in patients with kidney impairment. Complete the entire course as prescribed.

How It Works:

Before urination or kidney excretion, nitrofurantoin is converted and reduced to reactive intermediates by bacterial enzymes that damage DNA, ribosomes, and cell membranes in bacteria resulting in bacterial death within the urinary tract.

Dosage & Administration:

• 100mg with food, as prescribed
• Taken anywhere from twice to four times daily
• Complete the full prescribed course

Precautions:

• Contraindicated with any degree of renal impairment
• Inform doctor about G6PD deficiency

Contraindications:• Late pregnancy

Possible Side Effects:

• Nausea
• Loss of appetite
• Headache

Urine may become brown or yellow
