Product Description:

Villamet-M is a combination antidiabetic tablet containing Metformin Hydrochloride and Vildagliptin. It is used in the management of Type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. This combination works through two different mechanisms to provide better blood sugar control compared to either medicine alone.

How It Works:

Metformin reduces the amount of glucose the liver releases into the blood and improves how the body's cells respond to insulin. Vildagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that prevents the breakdown of natural hormones (incretins) that stimulate insulin release after meals. Together, they keep blood sugar within healthy limits throughout the day.

Dosage & Administration:

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor; do not adjust the dose on your own
• Complete the full prescribed course and continue even when blood sugar levels improve
• Take with meals to minimize the risk of stomach upset from Metformin

Precautions:

• Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver problems, or heart failure before use
• Inform your doctor before any surgical procedure or if you plan to take an iodine contrast scan
• Monitor blood sugar levels regularly as directed to track effectiveness and safety

Possible Side Effects:

• Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea (usually at start of treatment)
• Mild upper respiratory tract infection symptoms
